Beatrice Opoku-Asare

Beatrice was born in Ghana, has travelled to many countries, and lived in four, with family living across many countries. A wife and mom of two kids with Ghanaian names, she is very familiar with her discomfort when she says others’ names incorrectly or when others say her own last name or her kid's names in a way that does not sound like it at all.
In her free time, she mentors other women in STEM fields, facilitates a work-life balance support group, and volunteers in various community programs. Fun and relaxation to her means self-care, time with family, and new experiences through travel and meeting new people.
