Working with Rawlings
Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings burst on the Ghanaian political scene with a failed military mutiny on May 15th, 1979. On June 4th 1979, following a successful uprising staged by junior officers and other ranks of the Ghana Armed Forces, he emerged as the Chairman of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) which ruled Ghana for three months and handed over to a civilian constitutional government on 24th September 1979. On 31st December 1981, he overthrew the constitutional government and formed the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC) as the Government of Ghana. He was elected a constitutional President in 1992 and assumed office as such on 7th January 1993. He served two terms as President of the Republic of Ghana, finally leaving office on 6th January 2001.
Jerry John Rawlings is an enigma. It was a privilege working with him and being close to him. He and I went through many exciting experiences together. I have documented some of those experiences in this book. But there are many other experiences which I have not documented either because they belong to the realm of confidentiality or of privacy. What I have documented, however, is enough to give present and future leaders some ideas about governance at the highest levels; the dos and don’ts of governance; the skills required for governance and the importance of human relations as a leadership trait.
This is not a book about Jerry John Rawlings. It is not a book about Kwamena Ahwoi. It is not a book about the PNDC. It is not a book about the NDC. It is a book about Kwamena Ahwoi working with Jerry John Rawlings; our working relationship; our ups and downs and our joint commitment to building a better Ghana than the one we found it. Somewhere along the line, we drifted apart. This book is about that as well. It is my hope that Ghana’s leaders of today and our leaders of the future will learn some lessons from my account of Working with Rawlings, leaving out the negatives and accentuating the positives.

The Heart of God’s Music
The Heart of God’s Music is a well-researched and inspirational book on music that touches God’s heart. The author summarizes this exciting and engaging work in the following words: “As I continue towards my destination and expected end my desire is that God will be pleased and blessed by the sound of continuous music being offered in His name and for His glory on earth. God’s music ministry is a high calling which is founded on and ought to be saturated with Biblical truth, a sound blend of doxology and theology.”
It is our prayer that God will bless those who read this book and draw them to Himself in intimacy.

The Scholar’s Journey: A Practical Guide to Entering Graduate School and Securing Master’s and PhD Funding
Graduate school and higher education will continue to be with us till the end of time! Getting into it needs preparation, and getting funding for a PhD is a skill one must muster! One will have to provide motivation, a statement of purpose, craft a CV, write proposals, prepare a work plan and schedule, and write an email to a prospective supervisor, among others. In the end, PhDs whose projects receive funding might be required to submit conference abstracts and progress reports to funders. Each of these criteria is met by this book. It might be challenging to find all of these in one location, as Dr. Theo Acheampong argued in the book’s foreword. For the following reasons, this book stands out and fills a need:
- It is written in simple terms for easy understanding.
- It is made by a skilled individual who has gone through all of these stages.
- It compiles all the paperwork required for graduate school, as well as for obtaining grants and funding, in one place.
- The book is lighter and easier to carry when traveling.
- It includes useful examples that the author has prepared based on his experience.
- The examples provided in this book can be used by the reader to create his own narrative.
7. The book serves as a helpful resource for prospective Master’s and PhD Students

I am the Street Lawyer (Hardcover)
In this book, the author chronicles his perilous journey to becoming a household name in legal practice in Ghana, by sharing stories from the Victims’ perspectives.
His simple practice of the law demystified the revered and mysterious legal profession.
He became so common and accessible to the poor and most vulnerable victims of varied violations of our dysfunctional system, much to the annoyance of the true owners of the law profession; the Law Lords.
Moved by compassion, he led and represented several victims of rape, defilement, Military brutality, Police abuse and extrajudicial killings, religious and political abuses to navigate and find justice in a corrupt, unjust and dysfunctional justice system.
Discover how a street child became a street lawyer at the risk of losing his own legal career as beneficiaries of the corrupt system fight back.

Love Lifted Me from the Street
For a young man who was born in a slum by very poor parents, access to basic necessities of life were luxuries to him; even education. To him, comfortable living was meant for a particular class of people, of which, he believed his family was far from; given the acute hardship conditions his family was going through.
This book is a memoir of the Author’s street life as a teenage school boy, whose major ordeal was to hawk on the street, sleep on the street and virtually live off at the mercy of the street.
The Author highly attributes his success story to LOVE. “Without love, I have nothing. All throughout my life, many people have in diverse ways shown me love, and that gesture of love has made me who I am today”.
Readers will uncover the “from grass to grace” success story of the Author, who, is an epitome of inspiration to many youths today.
