Constance Emefa Edjeani-Afenu

Major General Constance Emefa Edjeani-Afenu joined the Ghana Armed Forces
at the age of 18 after obtaining her GCE Ordinary and advanced Level
Certificates at the Wesley Girls’ High School in Cape Coast from 1971-1978. She
graduated as a Second Lieutenant in April 1980 after an 18-month Regular
Cadet Training at the Ghana Military Academy. She has since risen through
the ranks to become the first female Commanding Officer and the first female
Major General of the Ghana Armed Forces with over 41 years of officer service
to her credit. Constance has received several awards for distinguished
leadership during her years of service.
