#OverallImpressions: I read this book in 24 hours. That’s just how awesome it was. Gabrielle is an effortless storyteller. And she has LIVED quite an extraordinary life full of many invaluable lessons. Her work as an activist who has transitioned from ignorance to a place of wokeness, understanding, and empathy was nicely highlighted without being obnoxiously preachy. I absolutely loved her authenticity, honesty, and sheer guts to let us all into her life in such a refreshingly raw and unadulterated manner. This book was beautiful to me in every way and I love her even more now than I did before. Easily one of my favorite memoirs ever. In fact, let me go ahead and list it as one of my top five without even sparing a thought to which others would complete the list. Just brilliant!
#SomethingThatStoodOut: the humor. Gabrielle is HILARIOUS! I laughed out loud in several instances reading this. Her authenticity and realness too make quite the impression.
