The Prophet of Doom
₵12.50
When the spiritual church was born, many people were instantly drawn to it, for, its colourful sermons accompanied by drumming, dancing and singing, fulfilled their desire for a revival of the traditional African way of practicing religion. They blindly followed the new prophets who, under the guise of a spiritual uplift, skillfully pursued their own material well-being.
The Self-styled Prophet Kofi portrayed in The Prophet of Doom was one of these unscrupulous prophets. His Holy village which he had founded in the remote place in the forest was more than a centre of spiritual activities: it was a commercial venture which benefited the devoted converts but a little.
He managed to pull the wool over their eyes long enough to amass immense wealth but finally, his luck ran out. Yet, before the Eden that he had created chiefly for himself fell, many of them realised that the salvation that he had promised them, turned into their doom.
