The world is in a global obesity epidemic and this is associated with thousands of chronic diseases. Bernard Kwabi-Addo is a cancer biologist and a Professor of Biochemistry at Howard University in Washington D.C and an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore MD. He earned his PhD degree from Queen Mary & Westfield College, University of London, MSc degree from University College London and BSc degree from Dundee University (Scotland).
Dr. Kwabi-Addo trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston (TX) in Cancer biology specifically in prostate cancer research. His current laboratory research focuses on identifying aberrant epigenetic changes associated with prostate cancer etiology/progression with the ultimate goal to discover novel biomarkers for the disease detection/progression. He has published scientific articles in journals including Nature Genetics, PNAS, Cancer Research, Prostate and Epigenetics. He is passionate about community outreach work in educating the general public in modifiable lifestyles to avoid and reverse chronic diseases. He lives in Northern Virginia (USA) with his wife, and three sons.
