The Battle of Words: Convergence of Akan Cultural Ethos and Scripture- Why Individuals, Families and Nations Suffer Spells and Ways to Prevent and Nullify Generational Curses (Hardcover)
The book intriguingly establishes parallels between the Holy Bible and the indigenous knowledge of the Akan people of West Africa regarding the power of spoken words.
The powerful declarative statements in the form of prayer of restitution and restoration in the final chapter seek to help restore the reader’s soul for spiritual fulfilment. ‘This important book blends profound truths in the holy scriptures and indigenous knowledge of the Akans to highlight the power of words. From the fact of creation when words were used to bring every creature into being to Akan traditional injunctions on mis(use) of spoken words, the author coherently emphasises the double-edged nature of words: a tool for building and for destroying. This is a must-read book for people who are determined to turn around their destinies.’

Flutter Until You Fly: The Unwanted Child who Became Captain of the Biggest Passenger Aircraft of the World
When he was six years old, he declared to the hearing of some friends: “I want to be a pilot when I grow up,” and it generated mocking laughter from them. The laughter became louder when at the end of sixth grade, his father lost his job and life went further downhill. From his family couch surfing in the neighbourhood for about seven years to having to cook and hawk kenkey, gari, and bake bread as a secondary school student, he kept going. He took the A Levels twice and performed poorly, disqualifying him from joining the air force even though he passed the army’s assessments twice. In Flutter Until You Fly, Captain Solomon Quainoo shares how he overcame these stumbling blocks and more, worked 17-hour days as a labourer, cleaner, pizza delivery guy, and traffic warden, to still become a captain of the world’s biggest passenger aircraft.

A History of Indigenous Slavery in Ghana: From the 15th to the 19th Century
Academic research and publication on indigenous slavery in Ghana and in Africa more widely have not received attention commensurate with the importance of the phenomenon: the history of indigenous slavery, which existed long before the trans-Atlantic slave trade, has been a marginal topic in documented historical studies on Ghana. Yet its weighty historical, and contemporary relevance inside and outside Africa is undisputed. This book begins to redress this neglect. Drawing on sources including oral data from so-called slave descendants, cultural sites and trade routes, court records and colonial government reports, it presents historical and cultural analysis which aims to enhance historical knowledge and understanding of indigenous slavery. The author further intends to provide a holistic view of the indigenous institution of slavery as a formative factor in the social, political and economic development of pre- colonial Ghana.₵120.00 -
