Dr. Anthony Gyening-Yeboah is a Ghanaian medical doctor, author and poet. He was born and raised in Ghana. He was awarded best graduating student in Molecular Medicine in 2017 at the University of Cape Coast. He is currently a medical officer with the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. He served as a COVID-19 frontline physician in 2020 in Accra. In his blogpost, COVID-19 Diaries: when the spread of stigma competes with the spread of the virus, he spoke against stigma suffered by survivors of COVID-19 during the early days of the pandemic in Ghana. While in medical school he published his first book, The Phoenix of Love. It is a philosophical work elucidating the concept of love, and how it can be used, inter alia, to tackle climate change, and imbue citizenry with patriotism. He was a regular guest poet on Open Air Theatre, a poetry talk show on Radio Universe (105.7MHz) in the University of Ghana; and occasionally on Writers Project, which is also a poetry talk show on Citi FM (97.3MHz), Ghana. His writings have also been published in the Gnomic Magazine, and other online platforms.
