Yaw Apraku Affoh was born in Accra, Ghana. He was trained at the Telecommunication Engineering School in Accra and worked with the then P&T Corporation of Ghana. He also taught in various junior schools in Accra till 1989 when he joined Step Publishers.

He later set up a Graphics and Publishing outfit which operated till 2003. He worked with a leading publishing company in Ghana as Editorial Supervisor and also with a tertiary institution as publicity and publications co-ordinator from where he decided to go into full time Christian ministry.

He has published a number of short stories and articles in some Ghanaian dailies and weekly newspapers as well as in Step Magazine.

Yaw is an ordained Baptist minister of the Ghana Baptist Convention who pastors with the Calvary Baptist Church in Accra, Ghana and is married to Yaa Oye. They have two children.
