JP Lawson holds a B. A. Communication Studies from the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). He won first prize in the maiden Professor Babatunde Osotimehin Essay Competition in 2018 and is an alumnus of the inaugural Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship Program by the Ghana Country Office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

In 2010, he was a top winner in an essay competition organized by Nestlé Ghana Limited. He also served as a senior prefect at the St. John’s Grammar School and is a member of the Ghana Association of Writers. He loves reading, travelling and sharing knowledge through public speaking.
