Bethel Revival Choir, founded by Mr John Awagah in the early 1990s is a Ghanaian contemporary gospel choir under the Global evangelical Church (GEC), Trinity Parish, located at Kotobabi in Accra, Ghana. The choir was founded with about five (5) members, but currently has a membership of about 150. Membership comprises of both workers and students.
The Choir is directed by renowned Ghanaian music director Henry Datsomor and headed by Cynthia Datsomor-Fiattor with an 11 member executive body.
The choir released its first Album dubbed ‘Halleluyah’ in December 2007. In May 2010, the choir embarked on a monthly 2 hours of uninterrupted absolute praise and worship themed ‘In His Presence’ on every first Sunday of the month, expect for the month of January which is usually used to strategize and plan for the year. ‘In His Presence’ has been of great successful and has blessed lots of souls for the past years now. ‘In His Presence’ has seen so many Ghanaian gospel ministers lead the congregation in praise and worship. A few of these ministers include the late Danny Nartey, Nii Okai, Pastor Hellen Yawson, Uncle Ato, Joe Mettle, Denzel Agyeman Prempeh, Eugene Zuta, Calvis Hammond, Elliott Lamptey, Edwin Dadson and almost every contemporary worship leader in Ghana.
In June 2018, the Choir released its 2nd Album dubbed ‘Akpe’. The ‘Akpe’ Album sought to project praise and worship through a rich blend of 5 languages, 8 different deep roots Ghanaian and foreign music genres, contemporary and African rhythms, hymns, Orchestra, rearrangement of old church choruses, new exciting and deep songs of praise, worship and encouragement. The Akpe Album featured 2017 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards winner, Joe Mettle who lead two of the songs on the Album with other gospel minister such as Calvis Hammond, Eugene Zuta, Pastor Edwin Dadson and Elliot Lamptey all leading various songs.
