Sand, Sun & Surprises: A Nigerian Expatriate in the Middle East – A Memoir
Sand, Sun & Surprises is a personal story told by a Nigerian Professor about his experiences and observations working in, and visiting countries in the Middle East over 23 years.
The 316-page memoir includes descriptions of the social life, leisure and religious practices in the region. It captures a snapshot of the socio-economic landscape of Nigeria reeling from the economic depression of the late 1980s and the surprising contrasts with Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, societies adjusting to dramatically improved standards of living as a result of their massive oil wealth.
This book is a compelling read for those who intend to visit or work in the Middle East, or indeed pursue careers outside their countries.

Sànyà
She could either be the saviour of her people,
or the destroyer of their world.Sànyà always felt different. And everyone that knew her—the people in the village she grew up in, her beloved brother, Dada, her Aunt Abike, and even her parents before she was born—knew that there was something special about her, too. After an unspeakable tragedy causes her to leave home and grow up too soon, she is devastated to find that her incredible powers are linked to a future which she must fight, even at the cost of her very soul. She begins life anew, hoping that the dark prophesy would somehow rewrite itself. Soon, however, her carefully crafted life and identity becomes the catalyst for a deadly war that will tear her family apart, and doom everything she holds dear.
Oyin Olugbile’s masterful debut tells the story of dangerous love—lost, found, and lost again—all against the backdrop of a fantastical, enthralling empire that holds even the Òrìsà themselves spellbound.

Saro
On a visit to the coast of Marina, Lagos, Siwoolu and his young family are lured by a traitor to a grand merchant ship where they are captured by slaveholders masquerading as traders. On the way to the new world, they are rescued by abolitionists on a British naval ship and sent to Freetown, a haven for freed slaves.
They settle in their new home, grow their family, and become successful merchants, trading goods between Freetown and Eko. Dotunu, Siwoolu’s wife, falls in love with another man and is caught in a love triangle. But their lives are upended again when they hear that the kingdom has selected the traitor as king. Siwoolu, content with his new life, yet fearful of a curse that lurks in the shadows, refuses to return, but Dotunu is determined to keep the traitor from the throne. She turns to their son, Oșolu, who is running from his own demons, to seize the throne that is rightfully theirs.
Saro is a multigenerational tale of betrayal and restitution, love and war, inspired by true events that will take the reader from the rocky terrain of Abeokuta and the burgeoning city of Lagos to the lion mountains of Freetown and Hastings of Sierra Leone from the 1830s to the 1850s.

Save the White Whale! (Geronimo Stilton #45)
Age Range: 7 – 12 years
Who Is Geronimo Stilton?
That’s me! I run a newspaper, but my true passion is writing tales of adventure. Here on Mouse Island, my books are all best-sellers! What’s that? You’ve never read one? Well, my books are full of fun. They are whisker-licking good stories, and that’s a promise!
Holey cheese, did I need a vacation! I had been working my tail off at The Rodent’s Gazette, so when Petunia Pretty Paws invited me to visit Whale Bay with her, of course I said yes. But our trip got off on the wrong paw, and my relaxing vacation turned into a real nightmare. That is, until Petunia and I came across a great white whale that needed our help. This would be one adventure I’d never forget!

Saving Rainbow
Saving Rainbow tells the story of a Children’s Home in dire need of support, and the four women who are dared to make a difference, in spite of their own circumstances…
Maame Afua is the manageress of the Charity Home going under. All her efforts to secure corporate support are proving futile, and it looks like her fears will win.
Sedem is a twenty-seven-year-old rising music star — a career she feels she has sacrificed too much for — even a relationship with her mother. But her world is asking for more, and she’s afraid she has nothing left to give.
Korkor is a strikingly gorgeous thirty-year-old lawyer in a toxic relationship with a charismatic young millionaire. Korkor knows she’s not in the best situation, but her willingness to leave him is non-existing.
Esiku is modest, a twenty-nine-year-old teacher who senses a greater purpose on her life. She’s conflicted as to exactly what it is, and how she can bring it into fruition.
This work of fiction is exciting and easy to read. It will engage readers from start, inspire contemplations, and stimulate conversations afterwards.

Scarlet
For many generations, uncertainty and tension have pervaded both the people of Under The Sky and the wraiths of Kiriyanga, but they trudge on, while holding on to the little streaks of light at the end of this seemingly-never-ending tunnel – a prophecy that order would be restored on the Day of Scarlet. This imminent respite however, comes with stringent conditions: “ … until a woman drinks from the confluence of two rivers that do not mix, the Day of Scarlet will not come.”
Scarlet is an inquiry into the absurdity of possessing absolute power or its pursuit thereof. With strong allusions to the Grecian myth of Zeun and Hades, and Yoruba myths of love triangles among gods as told of Osun, Ogun, and Sango, or Yemoja, Obatala, and Ogun, woven into and set in tales from Kikuyu lore, Alexander Emmanuel Ochogwu lends his voice to the conversations around politics and power-grabbing in Nigeria, Africa, and beyond₵55.00Scarlet
