Patience Acolatse is not amused when she learns that her ex-cousin, Rowena Quarshie, whom she hasn’t spoken to in six years is going to move in with her family, share her room and attend her school. However, Patience has a big heart and she is prepared to befriend Rowena once again and pick up their frienship from where they left off. Her books have also won prizes in the Ghana Association of Writers’s Awards, the Professor Kofi Awoonor Literary Prize and honorary mentions at the Children Africana Book Awards (CABA) and the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY).

Ruby is committed to African children learning to develop the habit of reading for pleasure and to ensuring that books African children read reflect their experiences and environments; books that feature characters who are “just like them”.

When she isn’t holding conversations with imaginary people in her head, she will be found either reading, gardening, travelling or spending time with her two dogs and turtle.
