The Adinkra symbols are pictorial presentations of values that have stood the Akan people of Ghana in good stead for so long. These symbols are many. They are extensively used to express feelings and sentiments of our present and our past and conditions that one may be undergoing at a particular moment.

From time immemorial, man has sought to record ideas and facts in one form of writing or another. At a time when Religion and morals are being sidelined in our educational system, it is good for school children to be taught that we as Akans had our own forms of writing like the civilization of the old, and that the form of writing, which speaks powerfully is the Adinkra symbol.

It encapsulates all that is relevant and important in our lives as political, moral, social, cultural, religious, psychological, scientific, technological beings.

The Akans from Ghana have been very famous for a long time for their exquisite culture. Ideas and values of this culture are expressed in words that are used in ordinary language, idiomatic expressions, proverbial renditions, songs and symbols.

The book will inspire many to discover the importance of the pictorial Adinkra symbols and dispel the wrong notion and contempt people hold against the wise activities of our forefathers.
