Mysteries of the Golden Stool is an historical fantasy adventure story built around the Kingdom of Asante, its vibrant culture and its most sacred relic – the Golden Stool.

The ruler of this kingdom is very powerful. He derives his power and authority from his occupancy of the Golden Stool, the symbol of state, the spiritual soul of the kingdom of Asante, which holds the unity and strength of the Asanteman, the kingdom.

The story elucidates the journey of a thief of ancient relics whose decision to steal the Golden stool sets into motion a thrilling fantasy battle with departed kings and guardians of the Golden Stool in an ancient mausoleum.

A cosmopolitan Asante academic transforms into the reluctant hero who defends his heritage and finds the love of his life.

Ernest Nsiah Youngmann

Born the last of ten children, to a Presbyterian school teacher/catechist father and a farmer mother at Bechem, Ernest Nsiah Youngmann grew up in Duayaw-Nkwanta. His deep interest in the theatre arts and entertainment industry led him into the Arts. He joined the Ghana Theatre Club performing in plays like “The Struggling Black Race” and “Back to Mau Mau”. He later joined the Talents Theatre and became its permanent Stage Manager and Director of Business and ran the first ever Festival of Seven Plays in the 1987. The plays included The Black Star; Mambo, The Trial of Kwame Nkrumah, Jogolo, Chaka – the Zulu, and Aikin Mata.

He had his first stint on screen playing a lead in “WALKING OUT”, a NAFTI Graduate film production which led him to being cast in two NDR/Afromovies productions of “KUKURANTUMI – ROAD TO ACCRA” and “NANA AKOTO.” He was also cast in Peter Bringmann’s “AFRICAN TIMBER,” Kwaw Ansah’s “HERITAGE AFRICA” and Danny Glover’s “DEADLY VOYAGE.” He was also director and co-writer for two video movies “SHOESHINE BOY” and “POLICE OFFICER 1.”

His greatest ambition was to become a filmmaker. He set up Movie Haus Ltd, one of the first private video production businesses in Ghana to build video archives, produce home videos, short documentaries, Corporate videos, Television commercials and Events videos coverage.

Ernest Nsiah Youngmann worked as Video and Photo Archivist for H. E John Agyekum Kufuor, President of Ghana from 2001 to 2009. He was also a news correspondent and liaison for almost all the media houses of Ghana accredited to the Presidency.

His hobbies: Watching movies, cooking vegetarian food and traveling.
