The Phoenix of Love
Rated 5.00 out of 502“The book The Phœnix of Love has been written… to answer the coyly defiant questions as to what love means and entails: Nature and activity of love, love of fellow creature, of God, of country, of social causes, self-love, dynamics of love…? Great and capable minds such as Thomas Aquinas, Erich Fromm, Jesuit Fr. Pedro Arrupe, C. S. Lewis and Irving Singer have, over the years, sought to unravel the meaning of the idea or concept of love, yet understanding love appears to be a discursive journey that is set to continue for a while longer…. The Phœnix of Love is, to my mind, one of the unimaginably giant steps in the unfolding discourse on the nature and activity of love and what it entails….
The young, brilliant and gifted author Anthony Gyening-Yeboah ingeniously employs philosophical, theological, scientific, psychological and sociological ideas to present his understanding of the concept of love in an intellectual and conversational manner that illuminates as much as it enriches the concept of love and the activity of loving.”
–Justice Yeboah, author of ‘The Alchemy of Social Justice’ & ‘Rights in Action’

They Call Me Archie: Amazing Journey of Destiny
Rated 5.00 out of 501ONE FOR THE GIRLS
There are some life stories you just cannot beat. Each time the names of such champions drop, one might as well perform a rite of acknowledgment…any. Their lives have graced hundreds of lives, and hundreds of lives continue to be redeemed through them. They have seen it all. Done it all. They love and they are loved. These individuals have given, and still have more in store. According to the Canon of the Classics, these persons, even the gods envy.
Rosina Aboagye Acheampong is one such mortal. From the precocity of her childhood, her dance with life has been one amazing ball of faith … and chance, nay, destiny. These captivating pages reel out the adventures of a pathfinder, a mould breaker and a pacesetter. Yes, her name might be synonymous with Wesley Girls, but be it at the national or community level, to list what she has achieved is to embark on the impossible.
Beautifully, however, Archie the Matriarch does not seem to see the power of her influence. She only wants to give thanks and praise.

The Fourth John: Reign, Rejection & Rebound
Rated 5.00 out of 501An influential northern caucus is secretly meeting and grooming him to contest the man who will select him as a vice presidential candidate. A meeting between the first lady and the Brong-Ahafo caucus results in, perhaps, the fastest ministerial reshuffle in the history of the country. At 2a.m., before the breaking of a major scandal, there is a meeting between the president’s friend and the investigative journalist about how to involve the main opposition leader, in the story to minimise its damage to the president in the upcoming election. The wife of the president reports the wife of the vice president to the vice president’s mother. The night before a crucial election, the president and his main contender are locked up in a meeting with Ghana’s most revered traditional ruler.
These and other revealing accounts on governance, policies and programmes of the fourth presidency of Ghana’s Fourth Republic are the intriguing contents of this book. Here, the journalist whose investigations are believed to have contributed to the downfall of the administration gets brutally intimate with the regime.
Rare interviews with key figures of the governing party and historical contexts to contemporary events provide readers and students of African politics the inside story of what is considered the model democracy on the continent. The fluidity of the writing style and humour make this book about politics and governance in Ghana’s Fourth Republic both informative, educative and entertaining.

The Threefold Bond
Love and Marriage are subjects that have been explored for generations and still remain a mystery. Through the years, songs, films, proverbs and books have sought to unravel the secrets of love and marital happiness.
In their first book, The Threefold Bond, Myles and Selorm Hagan explore some of the most pertinent issues in marriage including the purpose and context of Christian marriage, what to consider in choosing a partner, the roles of the couple and the tricky ‘hot’ subject of romance, sex and marriage.
The book also examines the roles and functions of the couple in the marriage, provides insights into issues of selflessness, and service to each other, preparation for welcoming either biological or non-biological children into a fold of security, nurturing and values.
The Threefold Bond sets out and offers the base for anyone desiring to improve their marriage relationship or those about to enter. This book is a great tool for anyone who desires to know and live out the essentials of God’s plan for marriage.

Spring Field
I remember with sufficient clarity where I first gave birth to my first poem. It was in high school. However, what was planted as a small seed of self-expression would grow and be transformed into a field of different shades of my life’s experiences: both sweet and vinegary.
As you read, you will become a witness to clear demonstrations of novice attempts, which metamorphose into signs of matured expressions and an unmistakable gentle growth of a pure love for poetry. My love for poetry always kept the wick burning to continually express passions and experiences aesthetically.
Nevertheless, while some of my poems are simply the result of my imagination, there are some that are wrapped around the lives of other people. Today, what you hold in your hands is a testament of a journey of survival and the will to keep on moving.
Enjoy reading!

I Love You: Understanding the Concept of Love
Love is the most potent force in the world. It has the capacity to overcome darkness and evil. It even has the power to diffuse tension, to dispel hatred and to quench the fiery darts of anger. Love can bring to your doorstep what faith cannot bring even though it is driven or fueled by faith. It is fueled by faith because you cannot walk in love without faith. Faith gives you a reason to love even when the circumstances do not make it favourable to love. Love is a weapon that can win any battle if it is properly wielded. Regardless of the power love has to stabilize our lives and our world, many people have turned away from the ways of love.
Love is hardly and rarely practiced even in the Christian community in recent times. The unfortunate truth is that we do not love anymore. We have become self-centered and most of the things we do are aimed at benefitting us rather than the people around us. We think about what we would gain before we do anything for anyone. If the outcome will not be beneficial to us, we refuse to do for others what they request of us. Although there are instances where people support each other sacrificially, most of our good deeds are motivated by selfish interest.

The Enemy of the State and Other Stories
Set in the fictional African country of Ghaspata, a country a bit too suspiciously like Ghana, these eleven short stories hinge on themes of identity, violence, love and cruelty, fear, desperation, and man’s search for happiness and meaning.
Adolika Nenah Sowah’s quirky imagination produces an oddly familiar world, laced with bolts of striking new realities that the author weaves into her stories – a teacher strangled by the very trees whose branches he uses to cane children, and a mysterious okro plying the skies of Ghaspata.
Compelling, ironic, bizarre, and immensely humorous, The Enemy of the State and Other Stories is sure to leave readers highly entertained.
