Southern African Liberation Struggles 1960-1994 (Contemporaneous Documents, 9 Volumes)
These 9 volumes are the most comprehensive historical record of the liberation struggles in southern Africa. Comprising 2.4 million words in 5,394 pages, they record interviews with liberation fighters and supporters in the Frontline states and the extraordinary sacrifices they made so that Africa could at last be free. With the fall of the South African apartheid regime, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) identified the need to record the experiences of the liberation struggles in Southern Africa, from 1960 until that final liberation in 1994. To that end, SADC launched the Hashim Mbita Project – named after the last Executive Secretary of the OAU Liberation Committee.

The book: “NOTARIES PUBLIC PRACTICE IN GHANA – The Law, Cases & Materials”, is the first of its kind by a local writer from and within our jurisdiction, contextualized against the background of Ghanaian jurisprudence, and yet informed by the standards and requirements of global notarial practice. Companies, Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring in Ghana – The Law and Practice: Volume 1(Companies) -Hardcover
Edited by a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Ghana and an Associate Editor who is a Senior Partner in one of the leading law firms in Ghana, this book is intended as a practical guide for lawyers and other professionals who advise on corporate affairs in Ghana.
The book can be regarded, in effect, as a sequel to the work undertaken by the Business Law Reform Committee of Experts, set up by the Attorney-General in 2008. Indeed, five contributors to the book were members of that Committee. The Committee was charged with the responsibility of making recommendations for the reform of Ghana’s business laws to ease the doing of business in the country. It decided to concentrate on company law in the first instance. The result of the Committee’s deliberations was the enactment of two important business statutes: The Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992) and the Corporate Insolvency and Restructuring Act, 2020 (Act 1015).
After the enactment of these statutes, some members of the Committee considered that it would be helpful to practitioners of company law and administration in Ghana and investors in Ghanaian business, if the insights gained during the Committee’s deliberations were distilled into a practical book, in concert with other Ghanaian company law specialists, with the objective of producing a standard book of reference on Ghana’s corporate law. The Editor therefore invited these members of the Committee and other selected specialists to contribute to this book in two volumes. Volume 1 of this book discusses the law and practice relating to companies in Ghana, while volume 2 will focus on corporate insolvency and restructuring. The contributors hope that the two volumes will together contribute to a better practical appreciation of the framework for doing business in Ghana.
Volume 1 begins with a chapter on the Concept and History of the Ghanaian Company, followed by a chapter on the Sources of the Company Law of Ghana, and then by a discussion of the Incidents, Attributes and Consequences of Incorporation. Coast of Slaves
This is the first volume in Hansen’s classic slave trade trilogy. When America was discovered and plantations established, slave labour became the principal export commodity from the Gold Coast. This book is about the history of Danish/Norwegian participation in the trans- Atlantic slave trade. It describes the organisation of the trade, the participants, the challenge, and the link with the West Indies to where the slaves were transported for work on the sugar plantations. It describes Danish purchase of islands in the West Indies, and traces how the decline in Dutch and British trade, and the abilities of the Danish administration led to a golden age in the Danish slave trade in the 1770s and 1780s. In that period, the Danish share in the total slave trade exceeded ten percent; and the decline in the trade with the growth of a new European consciousness, heralded abolition.

Africa in Contemporary Perspective
An important feature of Ghanaian tertiary education is the foundational African Studies Programme which was initiated in the early 1960s. Unfortunately hardly any readers exist which bring together a body of knowledge on the themes, issues and debates which inform and animate research and teaching in African Studies particularly on the African continent.

The History of Ashanti Kings and the Whole Country Itself is a key text for understanding the history of the great West African kingdom of Asante (now in Ghana). It is also an early–and perhaps the earliest–example of history writing in English by an African ruler and his amanuenses. It was begun in 1907 in the Seychelles on the instructions of the Asantehene Agyeman Prempeh I, who had been in British captivity with his family since 1896, during which time he had acquired proficiency in English.
The chief source of information was his mother the Asantehemaa Yaa Kyaa, who possessed an encyclopaedic knowledge of the oral history of her own lineage, which was also the royal dynasty of Asante.
