Southern African Liberation Struggles 1960-1994 (Contemporaneous Documents, 9 Volumes)
These 9 volumes are the most comprehensive historical record of the liberation struggles in southern Africa. Comprising 2.4 million words in 5,394 pages, they record interviews with liberation fighters and supporters in the Frontline states and the extraordinary sacrifices they made so that Africa could at last be free. With the fall of the South African apartheid regime, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) identified the need to record the experiences of the liberation struggles in Southern Africa, from 1960 until that final liberation in 1994. To that end, SADC launched the Hashim Mbita Project – named after the last Executive Secretary of the OAU Liberation Committee.
The research covered liberation movements in the countries which engaged in liberation wars, the Frontline states and Extension countries; and the Research Project team comprised members from the SADC mainland states of Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Lesotho and Swaziland. The support received from other regions is documented: Anglophone West Africa, Francophone Africa, North Africa, East Asia, Canada and the United States, Cuba and the Caribbean, the German Democratic Republic (GDR), Nordic Countries, Western Europe, the Soviet Union, Non-Aligned Movement: India, Yugoslavia, Indonesia, Sri lanka; Organisation of African Unity and United Nations.

Yaw Pare is a celebrated Ghanaian photographer. This ground-breaking book richly illustrates the history and legacies of Ghana’s forts and castles through photography. In the same way that the forts and castles themselves bear witness to the horrors of the transatlantic slave trade and slavery, so too do these photographs provide compelling material and visual testimonies, offering possibilities for understanding that words do not.
In this book, the photographer’s camera captures a reality that many choose to remember but just as many choose to forget. Ultimately, Remnants of a Haunted Past: Forts and Castles of Ghana constitutes an attempt to document the past so that it is never forgotten in the present.

The Mkapa Years: Collected Speeches (3-Volume Box Set, Hardcover)
This collection of speeches, in three volumes, by the third President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Benjamin William Mkapa (1995–2005), will serve primarily as reference documents to the vision of what he attempted to achieve in his ten years of leadership. His tenure as a leader came at a time when Tanzania’s economy was in dire condition. The legacy of the command economy, which had been in place for much of the 1970s and 1980s, was still felt. There was resistance to change to adopt a market economy, evident in the political tensions and debates about privatisation, an approach following Structural Adjustment Programmes, imposed by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, that had led to stagnation of the economy, high inflation, deteriorating health, education, communication, and transport sector services, as well as general gloom in the country especially among the poor. The bold steps he took during the first half of his administration did not immediately endear him to the public. However, in the ensuing years, slowly but steadily, positive results were achieved, and the social cost of change that the people had endured was appreciated. Relations with development partners and the multilateral agencies that before he took office had sunk to the lowest ebb were restored, and Tanzania, which was no longer unfit to borrow, received the largest debt relief ever and henceforth. Tanzania was on its way to new growth potentials and a vibrant private sector-led economy.
These collected speeches tell this story and tell it well, in great prose laced with wit and quotations from world political and literary sources, which is an evidence of his erudition as a literature student and journalist.

Nik Amarteifio: A Life of Curating Business Ideas
Over the past nearly 50 years that we’ve known each other, I have always admired the humility of my dear friend and brother Nik and how he maintains a low and unassuming profile in spite of the influential advisory power he commands as a big mover and shaper of the economic livelihood of thousands of people through the major companies he has curated and owns in multiple industries notably: mining, pharmaceuticals, media, food and more recently, venture capital.—- H.E. PURPOSE: A Memoir of Fearless Journalism, Diplomacy and Growth
What happens when a young man with little more than courage, conviction, and a microphone finds himself at the crossroads of journalism, diplomacy, power and history?
PURPOSE is the extraordinary journey of Ghanaian journalist and diplomat Jefferson Sackey—from humble beginnings in Ghana to the frontlines of some of Africa’s most defining political stories. With a journalist’s instinct for truth and an unshakable appetite for adventure, Sackey takes readers behind the headlines and into rooms where history was being made. From the newsroom to war-torn Liberia and Sierra Leone, from encounters with rebel leaders and African presidents to the corridors of the United Nations, his career brought him face-to-face with personalities and events that shaped a continent.
At the heart of the memoir is his remarkable experience serving within Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and working closely with Nana Akufo-Addo, then Ghana’s Foreign Minister. He reveals the lessons he learned about diplomacy, leadership and national interest while offering intimate glimpses into the personalities and principles that have influenced Ghana’s place in the world.
PURPOSE is both a personal testimony and a front-row account of Africa in transition. It is a story about growth. About discovering who you are while navigating places you never imagined you would reach. PURPOSE is the story of a journalist who refused to remain a spectator to history—and a man who learned, one extraordinary encounter at a time, that every experience has a purpose.
An eyewitness account of journalism, conflict reporting, diplomacy, public service and personal growth – from difficult beginnings in Accra to frontline reporting in Liberia and Sierra Leone, and later to the corridors of Ghanaian diplomacy.₵300.00 -

See What They’ve Done To Our SunRise : New Poems from an Old Loom
In See What They’ve Done to Our SunRise, Anyidoho continues to push the boundaries of poetic expression, crafting a unique voice that is both personal and universal. The title of the collection is itself a powerful statement, suggesting the disillusionment that has befallen Africa, while also hinting at the possibility of renewal and rebirth. Through the poems, Anyidoho invites readers to reflect on the past, engage with the present, and imagine a future that is both uncertain and full of promise. Thus, the “sunrise” in the title is both a symbol and a metaphor, hinting at seed time (a muted echo of his recent compilation titled SeedTIME) and the truncation of the hope and aspirations birthed by the sunrise. The sorrow and pain inflicted by malevolent forces who have stolen the people’s laughter are expressed in the title poem “See What They’ve Done to Our SunRise”: “They brought in Clouds from Foreign Skies / Filled Our Air with Acid Rain /that / Chokes the Breath with Blood / Blinds the Eye with Cobra’s Spit.” However, there is a window of redemption in “Rebirth of Our Land”, a testament to the poet’s ability to balance sorrow and hope. Thus, as in his earlier collections, the poems in See What They’ve Done to Our SunRise express a deep sense of sadness and loss, but they also affirm the resilience of the human spirit. For instance, in this collection, nostalgia, or distance, is not necessarily loss, but a disconnection from relationships, places and landmarks, tempered by time and circumstances, now and again reclaimed from the mist of memory and celebrated through poems on the theme of love: “I Must Learn to Let Go SomeTimes / Though So Strong So Deep My Love… / Knowing the Winds and the Trains / Will Bring Them Back Again and Again/ Though Just for a While Each Time” (“They Will Be Gone”). This balance is reflected in the poet’s use of imagery, where the darkness of suffering is illuminated by the light of hope and laughter; a testament to Anyidoho’s skill as a poet and his commitment to exploring the complexities of the human experience.
One significant thing about the collection is its arrangement in “movements”—not an entirely new format in the Anyidoho repertoire. It is a deliberate structural choice, similar to a musical composition, lending further weight to the poet’s immersion in Anlo musical traditions which have defined him as a poet-cantor straddling both tradition and modernity, as well as the page and the stage. This structure conveys various meanings and symbolism. It reflects thematic development and narrative progression in which the poems tell a story or explore a theme in a progressive manner. It also creates an emotional arc, with each movement evoking a specific mood or atmosphere. Also, the movements’ musical analogies insinuate a sense of rhythmic flow, with each movement building upon the previous one. In this way, harmony and discord are arranged to reflect the complexities of life and further enhance the import of the journey motif that undergirds the entire collection—the movements representing a journey or pilgrimage, with each poem marking a stage or milestone; also reflecting the cycles of life, death, and rebirth, or the cyclical nature of human experience. There are four movements in all: Movement One: Nostalgia; Movement Two: Blues for the Land; Movement Three: A Bouquet for Ancestral Souls; and Movement Four: Husago.₵300.00 -
Mr. Music Man: The Journey
From the breath-taking mountains, rolling hills and ranges of Obo, Kwahu, to Suhum and Darkuman, then traversing the nook and crannies of the country (Ghana) several times over, storming several West African countries, particularly Ivory Coast (now Cote D’Ivoire), before journeying to Europe to eke out a living through music by performing in Denmark, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Finland, and Norway, this is the phenomenal, thought-provoking and thoroughly enjoyable memoir of the legendary, evergreen music icon, Kojo Antwi aka Mr Music Man.
It is a painstaking account of how this highly decorated music star and cultural icon was chosen by music and his hitherto undocumented story of how he began his career as a singer in a band in the mid 1970s through to the late 1980s, an eventful journey which culminated in him becoming a solo artiste.
Mr Music Man: The Journey is an exciting and eye-opening account which lays bare bold and intimate details of the making of the man we have come to love, respect, and cherish for nearly five decades

Reparations: History, Struggle, Politics and Law
This book is born out of a longstanding wound, one etched deep into the soil, psyche, and soul of Africa. It is a wound that bleeds across centuries of slavery, colonial violence, and economic theft. But it is also a call to action, a demand for Repair, Justice, and transformation.
As an African committed to decolonization, Pan-African Unity, and socialist liberation, I have long felt the absence of a comprehensive framework that ties together the historical crimes committed against Africa with the concrete proposals for restitution. This book aims to fill that void. It is not a work of abstraction. It is a fierce, unapologetic, and urgent call for reparations.
This work is written not just for academics or politicians but for activists, students, community leaders, and the African Youth. It draws upon the insights of Pan-African revolutionaries, Marxist theorists, anti colonial fighters, and Contemporary grassroot movements. It seeks to expose the systemic roots of underdeveloped and articulate a bold vision for what reparative justice could mean in practice.
I offer this work as a contribution to an ongoing struggle, a struggle that demands not only memory, but mobilisation.₵330.00 -
Making It Big: Lessons from a Life in Business (Hardcover)
“When Femi Otedola, one of Nigeria’s and Africa’s most successful entrepreneurs, decides to capture his experiences in the form of this book, it is important! As the author himself notes, there are very few books by successful African business leaders documenting their journey and sharing lessons learned for posterity, but in particular for a younger generation.” – NGOZI OKONJO-IWEALA, Director General, World Trade Organization (from the Preface)

In 2010 he was awarded the prestigious National Honour of “Commander of the Order of the Niger – CON” in recognition of his contributions to the growth of Nigeria’s economy and for his philanthropy. He was appointed a vice-president of Save the Children, the UK-based charity in 2021, and he is the chancellor at Augustine University, Epe.

The Stench of Good News: A Story of Faith, Hope and Resilience – PreOrder
Available from 16th August, 2025
“AUGUST 11, 2020, BEGAN NORMALLY. BUT BY DAY’S END, MY BODY WAS ON FIRE AND MY LIFE FOREVER CHANGED.”
What should have been an ordinary afternoon meal turned into a life-altering disaster. Pierre Kuma walked into his kitchen—and straight into a wall of flames. A gas leak had triggered a sudden explosion, leaving him with second-degree burns over nearly half his body and a severe inhalation injury.
The explosion should have killed him—but God had other plans.
“The Stench of Good News” is a raw, deeply personal, and powerful testimony of survival, faith, and healing. Over 142 days in the hospital—including four surgeries, twelve blood transfusions, countless setbacks, and a long, painful recovery—Pierre experienced a miracle that cannot be explained by medicine alone. He lives today, fully recovered, leading a “normal life” as if the accident never happened.
With moving eyewitness accounts and honest reflections, this memoir explores the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual impact of trauma—and the astonishing grace that carried him through.
This is not just a story about burns and bandages. It’s about divine mercy. About the valleys we walk through. About hope when nothing makes sense.
If you’ve ever felt like giving up—or wondered whether God still sees you—this book is for you.
There is no pit so deep that His hand cannot reach in and lift you out.₵200.00 -
An Aroma Of Policing: A Life Of Service In Law Enforcement and Global Peacekeeping (Hardcover)
Former Inspector General of Police of Ghana (IGP Rtd.) Mr. Mohammed A. Alhassan has written a fascinating book, set out in readable form, about a “Police Barracks boy” born into the Police and, by dint of hardwork, focus and determination, rising to the pinnacle of the Ghana Police Service.
At a time of multiple security challenges, banditry, impunity, indiscipline and the rise of various social movements, when the role of the Police in maintaining law and order has often been under scrutiny, it is refreshing to read the story of a reformist Police Officer averse to political interference, who put service to citizens, communities, integrity, competence and professionalism as the lodes star of his distinguished career.
By the time he attained the apex position, (IGP Rtd.) Alhassan had served in several senior international positions and at the United Nations Police (UNPOL) at UN Headquarters. Indeed, he played an important role together with his colleagues at the time, in its conversion from a Unit into a Division under the Department of Peacekeeping Operations.
This background inspired his reforms designed to implant international best policing practices within the Ghana Police Service to make it agile, crime-prevention oriented and people friendly.
He devotes the concluding sections (pp 621-638) to Proffering bold recommendations to improve the performance of the Police. They pertain to constitutional amendments of the Police Commission, appointment of the IGP to insulate the process from parochial “partisan politics,” institutional restructuring, culture change, community policing, all women Formed Police Units to address pertinent gender issues, among others.
I fully endorse the book and recommend it as compulsory reading for Police Training Courses at all levels, but also to students of Security Sector Reform, Policy Makers, all serving personnel and the general public at large.
